Linen – A Strong and Durable Fiber

Linen is a strong and long-lasting fiber that absorbs moisture exceptionally well. Thanks to its excellent heat conductivity, linen is a breathable material that feels cool against warm skin and warm in cooler conditions. It resists UV radiation effectively and does not generate static electricity. Linen fiber has a glossy and smooth surface, making it both visually stunning and pleasant to wear while remaining highly practical. Additionally, linen is antibacterial, making it suitable even for sensitive skin.

Linen dries quickly and repels dirt effectively, making it easy to keep clean. When properly cared for and washed, linen garments only improve over time and can last for generations.

Storage Advice:
Do not store linen garments folded for long periods, as the stiff fibers may break at the folds. To keep your linen clothing in the best possible condition, store it hanging on a hanger.

The natural irregularities and knots in linen yarn give linen products their unique and organic appearance. These knots are part of the fabric’s natural charm and should not be trimmed with scissors.

BYPIAS Linen

The woven BYPIAS linen products are made of 100% linen and are pre-washed in fabric form. To preserve the authentic natural appearance of undyed linen, our natural linen fabric is left uncolored and lightly pre-washed. As a result, natural linen garments may shrink by 5–7% in length during the first wash.

Washing Instructions:

  • Wash at a maximum of 40°C on a gentle cycle with similar-colored garments to prevent excessive creasing.
  • Use liquid detergent. For colored garments, use a detergent without bleach; for pure white garments, use a white laundry detergent. For stain removal, we recommend gall soap.
  • Do not use fabric softener, as it weakens linen fibers.
  • Spin at a maximum of 600 rpm for a short duration to avoid excessive wrinkles.
  • Shake out and reshape the garment while damp, then hang to dry on a hanger. Do not tumble dry.
  • To restore the linen’s smooth and glossy surface, iron on the reverse side while the fabric is slightly damp, using a steam iron.

Storage and Sizing Tips:

  • Store linen garments hanging on a hanger rather than folded to prevent fiber breakage at fold lines.
  • When purchasing a woven linen garment, choose a size with sufficient room for movement. Linen has low abrasion resistance, so a looser fit helps the fabric last longer, particularly in areas prone to friction, such as underarms, inner thighs, and the back seams of trousers.
